The opening ceremony for the grade of 2019 international graduate students was held in 7-303 lecture hall in the afternoon of Oct. 25. Jiang Yunliang, deputy secretary of the university party committee, and ye Jinyun, vice President of the university , office of educational administration, office of graduate student, international college, office of student, office of security, logistics service center, responsible person of relevant graduate training unit and 166 new international graduate students of 2019 grade from 47 countries attended the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony started with the national anthem of China. The representative of the school Ye Jinyun firstly gave the international graduate students of 2019 grade a warm welcome, and he introduced to the freshmen that Huzhou is the birthplace of silk culture, tea culture and hubi culture, and it is known as the state of silk, fish and rice and culture. Also, Huzhou is a city which connects the city from the north and south of the Yangtze River Delta to the East Central Region. Huzhou is now trying best to integrated into the national strategy of Yangtze River Delta integration and building a high quality modern ecological lakeside city.He pointed out that Huzhou University is an open university. Huzhou University actively responded to the national “The Belt and Road Initiative” initiative, and co-founded Confucius Institute with Azerbaijan University of Language, set up a cross-cultural research center, continuously promoted the internationalization of higher education, strive to explore the diversification of the educational levels of foreign students, and gradually realize the "transformation, upgrading" and connotation development of the education of foreign students. The school will create good learning conditions for international students, provide humanized quality education and create a harmonious living environment.
Ye jinyun wished all students could become hard-working, truly learned and genuinely talented young scholars who strive for excellence, and become messengers of peace who understand Chinese culture and spread the friendship between China and the world. Hoping that they could build the bridge of cultural communication, make positive contributions to the construction of “ The Belt and Road ” and “ A Community of Shared Future for Mankind ”, as well as becoming the undertaker of future International exchanges and cooperation.
In the speech, Dr. Fang xi, the representative of teachers, hoped that students would cherish the opportunity of studying abroad, make full use of academic resources of Huzhou University, carry forward the good traditions of the university, practice the school motto “ grasping essential spirit to practice ”, make academic achievement, make positive contributions to their countries’ development and the construction of “ the Belt and Road ”.
Oman, the student representative, said that Huzhou University had professional teachers, varieties of teaching methods and open learning environment, which made him gained a lot. He hoped all freshmen can adapt to the environment quickly, take the initiative to learn, make self-achievements. The representative of freshmen, Wang yifan said he would cherish time, obey rules and regulations of school, redouble efforts, study professional knowledge seriously, and realize his wonderful life!
Finally, the opening ceremony of 2019 international graduate students was finished perfectly with warm applause.
It is said that after the opening ceremony, International College also invited police officer Ye yujia of Huzhou Exit and Extry Administration to introduce laws and regulations related to residence permit in China, and answered questions raised by students in detail.
There is no small matter of safety. In recent years, the International College has put the student safety education at the first place and taken the safety education as the first lesson for international students throughout.
