On the afternoon of April 24, the Fourth International Cultural Festival of our school opened at Deqing Lake, East Campus. Du Ning, member of the Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda of our school attended. Relevant departments such as Graduate School, Foreign Affairs Office/International College, Student Department, Security Department, League Committee and all teachers and students of International College participated in the activities.
Relevant heads of the Foreign Affairs Office/International College said that cultural exchanges are the basis for peaceful development and that peaceful development is an important part of international cooperation. The multicultural blend is not only in line with the national "One Belt and Road" initiative, but also in line with the school's reform, opening up and dislocation development strategy. As the only university in Huzhou with the right to grant master's degree, the internationalization of education has always been the need of serving the national strategy of "Studying in China" and "Strengthening the Province with Higher Education" in Zhejiang Province. It is also the source of innovation for our university's pioneering and progressive development.
The relevant person in charge of the Information Engineering College hoped that international students could learn to use Chinese, experience the customs of China, and truly integrate into the lives of the people of this country. Representatives of Moroccan international students expressed their love for China and Huzhou University in fluent Chinese and their good feelings of studying and living in school. They also stated that they would continue to study for graduate students in our school and pursue their dreams.
In the warm cheers of the students, Mr. Du Ning announced the official opening of the Fourth International Cultural Festival.The opening ceremony jointly arranged by Chinese and international students officially began.International students from Russia shocked the audience with their vigorous dancing and beautiful singing ; students from 14 African countries, including Rwanda, Zimbabwe Ethiopia and so on, appeared on the stage in their national costumes. Sometimes they sang warm songs, sometimes they rapped enthusiastically, sometimes they danced enthusiastically, which presented African culture perfectly and bringing a visual feast to the audience. Students from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and China brought a passionate dance that quickly caught the attention of all the audience. Three international students from Bangladesh performed three Bengali songs with their own band, which brought us different feelings of music. Five international students from Zimbabwe, Morocco, Yemen, Zambia and Kazakhstan have blessed the 70 birthday of China in the form of recitation in their own languages and Chinese.
This year is the key year of our school's "13th five-year plan", and also the key period of our school's education internationalization transformation and upgrading. Up to now, we have welcomed more than 580 international students from 46 countries, including the first 25 international graduate students, more than 90 percent of them are degree students, and "One Belt And Road" international students accounted for more than 85%. In the daily and teaching management of international students, we always keep positive. Constantly improve the system, so that our school international student work is becoming more standardized and orderly.
It is reported that this year's International Cultural Festival is the largest number of international students participated in the International Cultural Festival, the largest number of exhibition hall with the richest activity, adding the pavilions of Thailand, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Papua New Guinea and Yemen to the pavilions of Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
