On December 27th, Confucius Institute of the Azerbaijan University of Languages held a New Year’s Day activity to welcome the new year of 2019. The teachers and students，as well as the students of Confucius Institute participated in this activity together.

Before the activity, the foreign dean, Rafik Abasuofu, reviewed the teachings and cultural activities carried out by Confucius Institute in 2018 and he encouraged students who have studied hard during the past year. He said that in the new year, Confucius Institute of the Azerbaijan University of Languages will continue to improve the quality of teaching and cultural activities on the basis of its previous works, and will contribute to the career of international dissemination of Chinese culture.
Subsequently, students majoring in Chinese Studies and students from Confucius Institute brought wonderful performances. NaNa, a student from Confucius Institute performed the opening dance Curry Curry, which was joyous and full of rhythm. The first year student majoring in Chinese Studies brought the drama called The Legend of the White Snake and Pawnshop No. 8. The elaborate arrangement and vivid performance kept the audience focused. The melodious performance of cucurbits, the couple hardness with softness Tai Chi performance, and the songs called Friends and My Heart Will Go On, won warm applause from the audience.

The programs were also interwoven with interesting games, such as guessing words by touching, two three legged, stepping on balloons and so on. The games have strong interactivity, which made the audience sing and applaud, and the scene atmosphere was very warm. Finally, the chorus of Little Girl under the Street Lamp pushed the atmosphere to a climax.
This activity not only let the students feel the charm of Chinese culture, but also let the teacher discover students' art specialties, and it's helpful to enhance the understanding between teachers and students, and accumulate experience for mutual respect and sharing of culture.
