The Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan Language University held the 11th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition Report Conference for middle school tudents in the World

On Nov. 15, the Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan Language University held anexperience sharing meeting of "Chinese Bridge". Rafic Abasov, foreign president of the Confucius Institute, and students majoring in Chinese Studies from Azerbaijan Language University participated in the activity.

As representatives of the Azerbaijan Competition Area, Mei Siyu, a student from the Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan Language University, and Nana from Baku European MiddleSchool participated in the Chinese proficiency competition "Chinese Bridge"for middleschool students in the worldthis year.

At the beginning, Mr. Li Changyong, the teacher-in-charge, introduced five links of the "Chinese Bridge" competitionin details, including three bridge-crossing competitions, one intercontinental competition and the final.

Subsequently, a 5-minute short video took everyone to a warm, moving and passionate moment. Dribs and drabs, thousands of words, all came to a sentence finally, "If you learn Chinese, your friends would be worldwide".

Combining videos and pictures of this year's competition, Mei Siyu and Nana shared funny things and experiences happened in the competition. They said "Visits to the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the stone forest in Yunnan and the first village of Yi nationality gave us a taste of magnificent mountains and rivers with different Chinese characteristics; experiencing courses with national characteristics, Chinese tea art, paper cutting, martial arts and other courses, brought us a deep understanding of China's extensive and profound traditional culture and customs; ‘Entering the family’, ‘Entering the school’, to participate in friendly football matches between Chinese and foreign students, and the international music festival on campus, all of the above let us recognize a modern China with rapid development”.

" It was the ' Chinese bridge' competition that gave us chances to go to China and be aquainted with people who love Chinese as much as we do from all over the world. And very grateful to Mr. Li and all teachers of the Confucius Institute for their help and encouragement. Besides, taking part in the competition can not only raise our Chinese proficiency, but also exercise ourselves. I hope that everyone can study Chinese hard and take an active part in 'Chinese bridge' in the future," said Mei Siyu, a student from Confucius Institute.
