From May 26th to 27th, the 3rd “International Students in China - A Tour of Sports Culture for International Students” Zhejiang District Trails, which was held by Zhejiang Education Department and was undertaken by International Student Education Management Specialized Committee of Zhejiang Association of Higher Education, kicked off in Zhejiang University of Technology. International students’ squads from 18 universities in Zhejiang province participated in it. Through two days of intense competition by 11 athletes, our squad won the single basketball championship and the group total score ranked fifth in all (Second Prize).
The competition was divided into three parts including "sports art show, orienteering, three-player basketball game". The most exciting part during the competition was the three-player basketball game. Four athletes of our university respectively from Senegal, Burundi, Chad and China fought bravely during seven dual meets and eventually we defeated Zhejiang University and got the championship in the basketball games of the final round. In the sports art exhibition competition, a Russian student named Shakhnaz, showed a traditional Chinese Tai Ji performance called "The Rain Drops in Jiangnan" brilliantly. Her alternated tension with relaxation, tempered force with mercy, had won round and round of applause from the audience. During the orienteering competition, ten athletes respectively from Zimbabwe, Senegal, Chad, Burundi, Rwanda, Russia and China insisted on finishing the orienteering 10-people relay race despite of the wind and rain, which showed their encouraging teamwork.
According to the reports, "International Students in China――A Tour of Sports Culture for International Students" was a national activity organized by Ministry of Education for International Students. And it was a famous cultural brand of the international students from national colleges in the new era, it was also an important measure to optimize the environment of studying in China and improve the international influence of international students. It was the first time that our school had participated in this activity. With the help of the teachers and students of College of Physical Education, the international students put their hearts on, tried their best and sprinkled their sweat in the competition. They adhered the competition spirit of "friendship first, competition second", and competed to their full capacity and sportsmanship, which fully showed the good mental outlook of Chinese and foreign teachers and excellent students quality in Huzhou University.
