In order to strengthen the educational communication of Russian-speaking countries along “the Belt and Road Initiative”, promote the internationalization process of college education, at Azerbaijan University of Languages’ invitation, three people of the educational delegation including the direct secretary of the Party branch from International College (Foreign Affairs Office) Du Jun, the deputy director of the Higher Education Institute Yan Dengke and the foreign expert Linda made an eight-day academic exchange to the related higher education institute in Azerbaijan and Belarus. During the visit, the member of the delegation had a zero-distance contact with the profound traditional culture and the special idea of the higher education about the two countries, they visited and learned the advanced practice and experience of the two schools, particularly in the aspects of the subject construction, talent cultivation, academic research and so on.
From May 3rd to May 5th, the delegation visited Azerbaijan University of Languages with the other delegation led by the director of the Institute of Information Studies, CASS―Zhang Shuhua. As a close partner of co-constructing Confucius Institute and the center for cross-cultural research, the president of Azerbaijan University of Languages offered a warm welcome to the delegation of our school. They introduced the history, subject construction and other basic conditions of the school in detail. They also expressed their desire to further strengthen international cooperation with our school. Du Jun also introduced the recent development achievements and characteristics of our school and reviewed the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Higher Education and the 102nd Anniversary of the Founding of Huzhou University which was held at the end of April, as well as the situation about the first Belt and Road intercultural seminar. It was pointed out that the two universities should work together closely, especially with the help of the academic resources of President Abdurayev, to carry out education cultural cooperation and communication.
During the visit, the delegation also held talks with the Chinese and Azerbaijan presidents of Azerbaijan Confucius Institute of our university, discussed the situation, achievements and future development of Confucius Institute in detail and suggested giving greater support to academic research, cultural exchange and personnel protection.
Then the delegation participated in the "Multicultural integration and communication" international academic conference sponsored by Azerbaijan University of Languages. The participants included scholars from China, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Belarus, Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. At the meeting, Du Jun and Yan Dengke submitted two academic papers for written communication, and issued the sound of Huzhou University.
During the period in Azerbaijan, the delegation made a deep conversation about development planning and research topics of multicultural research center with the delegation of the Information Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, they agreed that based on the international research center in our university, to open up overseas Chinese educational, economic and cultural studies and take time to set up research teams, with the help of the "Beijing forum" from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, to invite experts to give lectures systematically, enrich the content of academic forum and promote academic influence.
From May 6th to May 7th, the delegation visited some educational services like White Ross Institute for Higher Education, National University of Languages. The dean of Belarus Higher Education Research Institute VIKTOR•AHATOLIEV•KACEHOV, the vice-chancellor of National University of Languages ALEKCAHTR•PETROBIH and some relevant person in charge, gave the delegation a cordial reception and looked forward to strengthening the cooperation with our university around the multicultural research center. Both sides reached a lot of consensus on further cooperation and communication, and agreed to start with teachers' education, personnel training and periodical exchange as the starting point, and would try to start the agenda for further cooperation in a short period of time.
During the visit, the delegation also visited the white Ross Mir technical school, and observed its campus construction, classroom arrangement, operation workshop and the exhibition of students' graduation design works, which accumulated valuable experience for the training of relevant professional applied talents of our university.
Through the face to face in-depth discussion with Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Azerbaijan and Ross universities and research institutions of Belarus, the visit strengthened the "Belt and Road Initiative" along the Russian national institutions of higher education cooperation and friendship and also further promoted the Confucius Institute, multicultural research center for effective implementation of the project, and laid a good foundation for further closely circumfusing the "Belt and road initiative", optimization of higher education internationalization pattern .
